Not much compares to shooting on medium format film. The small amount of images on each roll. The shape of each frame. The anticipation waiting for the developing. The smell. The feel and the texture. so beautiul.
I always had dreams of building an amazing snowman. A big one with a carrot for a nose and some other creative tidbits. It was on my bucket list. But then when I got to the snow and started the make one my hands nearly froze off (yes i should buy mittens) My hands shut down and my brain went into survival mode so this is the extent of my awesome snow man.

Oh, I HAVE to show this post to Aaron when he wakes up - he built a snowman of about that size on Mt Blanc when we were there! Loving the regular posts, although the kids are not convinced that all the photos are real (e.g. coastline in Portugal)... Love, Ruth
Snow is a bit of a novelty for me, I was so excited to get to Chamonix and find fresh snow which would stick together nicely into snow balls. :)

I was looking at this image and thinking how simple it is yet how it incorporates so many things that I think are just 'the best', Jake, the beach, light, shadow, reflection and holidays. I am blessed.
