I love it when furry friends come to join us on photo shoots.

Vino is the all too cute pet to the gorgeous Pia and Marty, whose wedding I have the privileged of shooting later this year. He made me laugh.

Gramps is dear grandfather of my boyfriend Jake. His wife of 63 years passed away last year. The same week I saw this beautiful blog post by Dan O'Day, celebrating the love of Ginger and Pearl who had been married for 65 years. It left me thinking what an amazing and lasting gift this was for Ginger and Pearl and their families.
I missed the oppurtunity to photograph Gran and Gramps together but realised there was still a world of relationships and love Surrounding this man that deserved to be celebrated and remembered, As there is around each of us and our loved ones.

There is something so so beautiful about children at play. They are so present in each moment, every part of their being involved in the activity.

These are the gorgeous children of Suzy and Dwayne whose family I had the pleasure of photographing a couple of weeks back.

I love the photos running through the water, it embodies so much of my own feeling and childhood memories about the beach. That peaceful satisfaction of being surrounded by sand salt and sun.

Cassie + Creaky are two beautiful individuals who I am privileged to call my friends.
I love their little family.
I love that that they had the courage to cancel their big planned wedding and decide instead to have a tiny ceremony on their favorite beach as they originally dreamed.
I love that this wedding was so much them.
I love that I was able to be there to take these photos and be part of such an amazing day.

Lucinda + Ian had their gorgeous little wedding in a piano cemetry somewhere near York. A gorgeous farm/olive grove with old piano's resting in random interesting locations dotted around the place. So wonderful.

These too are oh so beautiful. inside and out. I cant wait to shoot their wedding.

Above is a 'Draw Rites' collaboration I worked on with the talented and gorgeous, writer/ actor,  George Gayler. The words are hers, the ink is mine, penned onto the photographs with a hollowed  piece of bamboo. I love hand written text with my photographs, something I want to practice more often. The model is the beautiful Nicolle Versteeg, also a photographer and one of my new studio co residents.

I love photographing this family.

I love the way Sady's hair moves in the wind.
I love the way her t-shirt moved while throwing sand bombs
I love that Adele smiles with her whole face.
I love the little strawberries and little finger, (it reminds me of being a child)
I love the stillness and the sound of leaves I can hear in the images, laying in the park.

I love that these guys let me back into their family time after time, and that I get to see the changes and growth in these beautiful children each year. Time does fly.

Darcy had so many poses up his sleeve I could sware he's been watching Zoolander.

I shot his parents, Di + Simon's wedding a couple years back, their little boy is a treasure.

A crazy couple of weeks.
Aside from the long trip home from Africa and battling a few good bouts of gastro, the last two weeks have largely consisted of accompanying my dearest friend and beautiful boyfriend through varied hospital wards.
Three months ago the nose of a surfboard went through his calf, a week ago the remnants of infections of that unhealed cut (or some ocean born disease, or funky tropical bug, we're still not sure) took to shutting down his organs - kidney, liver, lungs, and almost his life.
Thankfully God had greater plans and Jake is now home, with both legs attached, and well on the road to recovery.
